HOW TO MEDITATE
Sit down, (in a chair is fine).  Sit still and upright.  Keep both feet flat on the floor.
Close your eyes lightly.
Sit relaxed but alert, breathe calmly and regularly.
Silently, interiorly, begin to say a single word or phrase: your mantra.
We recommend the sacred word: MA-RA-NA-THA.
Recite it as syllables of equal length.
Listen to it as you say it, gently but continuously.
Do not think or imagine anything spiritual or otherwise.
If thoughts and images come these are distractions.
Simply keep returning to the mantra.
Meditate each morning and evening for 20 to 30 minutes.
It’s recommended that your practice be regular.  Set aside a time (if possible a space) for a morning and evening practice.  Think of it as tooth brushing for the soul.  Additionally group practice when possible is recommended as the group effect enlivens the practice, making it more powerful.
Do not analyse or judge your meditation practice.  Feeling bored and restless is fine.  Feeling peaceful and serene is fine too.  The benefits are rarely dramatic or instantaneous but are experienced over time as things seem to fall into place more effortlessly.

All these things will be added unto you Luke 12:31.
